From 8 to 11 August, the Green Sun Association, in partnership with the Sports Office, organised the twenty-first edition of a day camp in the guild town. Nineteen schoolchildren aged 7 – 11 from Lisznyó, Armenia, Ozsdola and Gelence participated in the camp, taking part in a variety of thematic activities every day from 9am – 4pm. Hundreds of photos and several short videos were taken, the most memorable of which are available on the association’s Facebook page.
One of the many aims of the camp is undoubtedly to find children who love sport and nature, and to find them the association so that they can develop a lasting relationship with the association and become regular participants in its programmes. Playful activities were organised for the children to raise their awareness of the importance of environmental awareness and a healthy lifestyle. The camp not only consisted of situational exercises, but also included a lot of communication, mood-setting and movement activities. At the same time, they took part in more and more exciting team games and strategy games to improve their thinking skills, but also arts and crafts activities, origami and the traditional morning gymnastics. The day camp also included a variety of ball games, indoor football, learning to dance, story reading, table tennis, basketball, bingo, milling and learning the basics of chess. In addition, Oláh Attila, a Paralympian from Târgu Secuiesc, was invited to give a motivational talk, as his willpower and extraordinary fighting spirit are an example for many. And 11-year-old Grigoryan Gohar raised the tone of the last day of the Zöld Nap-pali camp with a beautiful Armenian dance.
The sessions were enjoyed not only by the students but also by the organisers. Three ESC volunteers from the Heal the earth, reloaded edition II project were also involved in the camp activities. During the four days, real friendships were made, new knowledge was acquired, and the children were enriched with many adventurous tasks and experiences.
