Green Sun Association host the Turkish Club in a partnership with Turkish ESC volunteers in Kézdivásárhely. The Turkish Club was started on 26th of January at Green Sun Office. The aim of the starting the Turkish Club is to create an opportunity for local people who want to augment their knowledges about Turkish culture, language, history etc. Photos taken during the event are available on the Facebook page of the association.

Turkey is known as the land-bridge linking Europe and Asia. It is located on the Anatolian peninsula in Western Asia and the Balkan peninsula in Europe. It has a long and varied history. It has amazing food, spectacular sites and awesome beaches. Turkish is an official language in Turkey.

Besides the general information, our aim are  to give more details information about Turkey and teach Turkish language to local people. Also we create an opportunity to those that want to learn and practice Turkish language with  native speakers. According to our participant Ágota SükösdI really like the Turkish club. Because we don’t have these kind of opportunities  in our area so often, this was something that caught my attention. It’s helpful to me, because I want to learn Turkish, and this way I can focus on it better. “ and Margit TuroczyI decided to register to the Green Sun Turkish Club because I had met some very nice Turkish young people at the association during the years. On the other hand I also wanted to better understand some Turkish fims and, who knows, I might travel to Turkey some time. Turkish language sounds very different from other European languages but very interesting to me. I met the two Turkish ESC at Green Sun Association and I spent some time with them during their activities. I liked them and I was happy to go on with them through their club.I could hardly wait to learn their language and interesting new things about their life and civilization. They proved to be very good teachers using fine teaching methods with games, films and music. This made our learning easy and exciting.Their nice, friendly and helpful personality warmed up the atmosphere of our lessons, I enjoyed them very much. I liked the dialogues and the games best, the whole atmosphere by joking, laughing, drinking Turkish tea and so on. It is also a special feeling to be a pupil in the same class with my own students from good old times. This is an extra-attraction of the club to me. I am sorry these classes will end within a few months. I’m sure we’ll finish with   good language skills and useful kowledge. I myself will keep wonderful memories thanks to these two young people, to my dear new classmates and finally to the Green Sun Association who offered me the possibility to attend. Thank you and good luck, my dear friends! “ .

In addition according to our another participant Mojzi Judit  “As I have been learning Turkish for a while, I was thrilled when I heard about the Turkish Club! Having native speaking teachers is great opportunity for me/us to learn a Turkish. Both Ayten Kurnaz and Halis Özcan are extremely kind, warm hearted,  full of energy and happy to give us a ‘slice of Turkey’ I am very happy to be a part of this club and I hope to learn much more about the language, the culture and the country! Thanks for founding and running the Turkish Club!
