Meet and greet organized for ESC volunteers in Romania. From 20.02.23 to 24.02.23 our trainers Andra Tanase and Florin Ceparu 

The first day was a day of introductions. Everyone took turns to introduce themselves, there were volunteers from many different countries. Everyone was very polite. I was a bit nervous because I don’t speak English, but after the introductions I felt better thanks to everyone’s supportive attitude. At the end of the day we were given homework and asked to prepare a poster, video or presentation introducing ourselves and our project.

On the second day, we showed the presentations and videos we prepared as homework and explained what we did in more detail. Afterwards, they prepared simple general culture questions about Romania and we answered them in 14 seconds. We learned about Romania’s culture, food, athletes and music. 

On the third day, we started the morning of the third day by doing sports to make us sleepy. After our trainers gave information about Romania, we first individually created icebergs about our own culture, then they divided us into group work, each group was asked to sing karaoke from the Romanian background, the food culture they liked and a Romanian song they liked, then we showed each other as groups and sang karaoke together. It was a lot of fun.

On the fourth day, we started with a fun sport again, everyone showed a sports figure and chose the next person, then our trainers asked us to share what we knew about ESC rights and responsibilities, then we came together again and explained in detail what we knew and what we did not know.

On the fifth day, we started with beautiful music in the morning and did a meditation with the guidance of our trainers, we closed our eyes and imagined ourselves in a park and everyone said something in turn, like there were people running in the park, and then we talked about what this situation made us feel, like who we thought of next to us, and then they gave us detailed information about youthpass, cigna, and we were given a link to write a letter to ourselves in one, two, three years, which was very meaningful to me, it was a very educational, very productive week. I gained a lot of knowledge. I made new friends. Everything was very nice.
