otodik nap (26)

Our team went on the Erasmus+ “DigitalGreen – Net in the garden” international youth exchange between April 30 and May 9 (2023) in Felsőtárkány and Eger, two comunities from Hungary. Photos taken at this youth exchange can be viewed on the association’s Facebook page.

A short taste of the programs:

We got to know the ERASMUS+ programs and the opportunities related to EU youth. They also introduced us to the world of Europass and Youthpass, which has a lot of possibilities for everybody! The presentation of the partner organizations was also exciting, as we got to know the members of the H-Union Association, KMDFKSZ, and Iuventus Ventus. Great people, exciting programs!

The game “Gardening Quiz” was a real challenge, but we learned a lot about gardening and plants. The hosts invited a speaker who shared his great experiences with urban and indoor gardening. In addition, he brought strawberry seedlings as a gift for the winners of the quiz! During our round table discussion, we compared small-scale organic farming and large-scale industrial production. This made us even more aware of the importance of environmental protection!

During our garden design drawing task, we imagined and designed our own gardens in small groups. Everyone was amazingly creative! During the national evenings, we were enriched with cultural and gastronomic experiences. The dancing and music created a real atmosphere! Gardening and applications: we have collected smart tools and applications related to gardening. We showed each other how to use them and even “brainstormed” what was missing on the market!

Planting seedlings in the polycarbonate tent: imagine how it feels to grow your own tomatoes! Eger city and community garden visit: we also visited community gardens and school gardens and worked together to acquire practical knowledge. Planting seven fruit trees: we gardened and contributed to the preservation of nature.

ChiliYard chili farm tour: nature works with time, and we marveled at this miracle! City tour of Eger: we enjoyed the local plant cultivation and viticulture memories, we also visited a winery. Project task spanning several days: planning your own gardens in small groups. Trip  in Bükk: we visited wild orchards and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Plant recognition competition: we tested our plant knowledge and announced the winner.

Presentation by Gergő Koletán – ChilliYard: we met a successful gastro entrepreneur who told us how he started his own business. We continued the garden design in small groups and everyone contributed their own ideas. Karaoke Night: We sang together and had a great time!

Joint dance and musical fun, with which we end the days spent together. We will continue next time! There are many more exciting things to come, so stay tuned!
