On June 24-26, the Mid-term Evaluation Meeting took place in Jupiter Resort in Constanta. The meeting was attended by volunteers from different parts of Romania. A specific program was created for three days and we followed this program for three days.
Totally 3 groups were formed due to the high number of participants. Two mentors were assigned to each group. The group I was in was called Group 1. There were 22 volunteers in total. Our group mentors were Marian Ancuta and Andreea Hagiu. On the ground floor of the hotel where we stayed, each group chose a different area and spent most of the time there for three days.
In the morning of the first day, we focused more on getting to know each other and finished the morning with various games and activities. In the afternoon, groups of five were formed. Each group was given a different topic and we were asked to discuss it. The first; is an important lesson that I learned within my project. Second; is a change I’ve made in my life due to the ESC project. Third; is a change I caused in another person’s life. Fourth; is a person I’ve met in my project that inspires me. Fifth; is a challenge that I faced and how I overcame it. The sixth one is advice I would give to other volunteers. Afterward, we came together and talked about these in general.
On the second day, various games and activities took place in the morning. In the afternoon we first went to the beach and meditated. After meditation, groups were formed again. This time groups of two were formed and each group was given four questions. The questions were: What is your internal weather? What are the challenges maintaining in your well-being? What does well-being mean to you? What do you do for your self-care? I discussed these questions with Nerea Ruiz García from Spain. Then all the groups came together again to answer these questions.
On the third day, we mostly discussed what we did during the ESC process. We said positive and negative things about our projects. Then we learned about Youthpass. We got detailed information about what we can do after ESC. Then a workshop was held. In this workshop, people organized activities and taught each other something in groups of 14 people. I first chose Portuguese dance and went to that group. I learned Portuguese dance for half an hour. My second choice was the group that was given information on photography. In this group, we got some information and took various photographs, and told each other how these photographs made us feel. Since it was the last day, the meeting was completely over at 14.00.
It was a very nice three days for me. I made new friends from many parts of Europe. I have accumulated many beautiful memories.
