The Green Sun Association organized the Armenian Conversation Club for the fourth time, conducted over three months in the Sport Hostel. Each session was filled with joy and laughter, with the only participation requirement being basic knowledge of the English language. Photos from the event can be viewed on the association’s Facebook page.
Participants in the Armenian conversation club learned the basics of the language (alphabet, introductions, useful phrases) and received informal education through songs, dances, short films, and many other interesting methods. There are different options for effectively learning a language, but everyone agrees that, first and foremost, practice and speaking are necessary. To learn Armenian correctly, a small understanding of grammar is also necessary. What made this club special was the emphasis on Armenian conversation and appropriate dance. The free classes were conducted by volunteers from the “Heal the Earth, Reloaded Edition II ESC” project, Alik Mazmanyan and Mariam Evanesyan. Even though they had no experience in teaching foreign languages, they made an effort to assist the participants. The interactive sessions took place in a communicative and constructive manner, with any grammatical errors openly discussed after activities, and participants were encouraged to find the correct solutions themselves.
The project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps and the local Sports Office.
