The final international conference of the DigiON partnership project took place in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana from 17-19 March 2023. The DigiON project, in cooperation with teachers from Italy, Slovenia and Transylvania (Romania), promotes the safe and responsible use of digital technology among primary school pupils. The project is a partnership between four organisations: Inštitut Integrum (applicant) from Slovenia, OŠ Alojzij Šuštar, Associazione MEC from Italy and the Green Sun Association from Kézdivásárhely. Photos from the meeting are available on the association’s Facebook page.
The final international conference was organised at the AŠ Primary School. The first steps of the conference included a warm welcome and registration of participants, followed by a welcome speech by the Slovenian partners. This was followed by an icebreaker game by Ráduly Attila, head of the Green Sun Association, where the participants could learn about the commonalities between the two. As at every meeting, there was a short introduction of the participants, where we could find out who came from which country and what they teach. Then, Giacomo Trevisan from Italy spoke about the importance of digital awareness and Benjamin Tomažič from Inštitut Integrum gave a short summary of his experiences of school activities during the DigiON project. Furthermore, in a joint meeting of 3-4 teachers from Italy, Slovenia and Transylvania, the DigiON school activities and experiences were evaluated. The last speaker before the break was Klemen Čeligoj, who gave a presentation on working with disadvantaged students.
After a short break, the participants, in another group of five, discussed and changed the content of the DigiON lessons based on their suggestions, opinions and experiences, and then the new versions were briefly presented. At the end of the international conference, the certificates were awarded to the project participants in a ceremony. As a final event, the participants had the opportunity to enjoy a boat trip on the Ljubljanica river, a city tour and dinner.
